While football fans pack the NRG Stadium in Houston Sunday to watch the New England Patriots take on the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl LI, eyes will also be on the game right here in Las Vegas. There are more than a few ways to celebrate the big event in style.
Place Your Bets!
Las Vegas is loaded with sports books, eager to accept bets on anything from who will win the game itself, to who will win the coin toss. Caesars Palace has even posted a prop bet on the height of the first player to score a touchdown. Overall, Nevada sports books are expected to take in more than $100 million in bets connected to the Super Bowl this year. In addition to Caesars Palace, some of our favorite sports books in Vegas can be found at the MGM Grand, Cosmopolitan, Venetian, Westgate and South Point.
Vote on Your Favorite Team… with Food!
Rival burgers will be served at Holsteins inside the Cosmopolitan. The Big Gronk Burger in honor of the Patriots is a beef patty topped with coleslaw, remoulade sauce, lettuce, tomato and onion. For fans of the Falcons, there is the Dirty Bird Burger. It's made with fried chicken breast, watermelon buffalo sauce, blue cheese dressing and coleslaw.
Book Your Own Living Room on the Strip!
The new Alto Bar at Caesars Palace is making personal "living rooms" available on Super Bowl Sunday, with a personal TV, a couch and chairs that can seat up to five guests. Two buckets of domestic beer are thrown in as well. The casino's sports book is just steps away.
The Downtown Las Vegas Events Center will be transformed into a massive viewing party. The 85,000 square foot space will be redesigned to look like a football field, with stadium seating, concert-like surround-sound and large screens to capture the action. Food will be provided by American Coney Island, Wing King, Poppy Pizza Truck, Cousin's Maine Lobster and Road Kill Grill. Doors open at noon.
Go Italian Style!
If you want to avoid the chaos of the Strip, Plantone's Italian Market is a great alternative in the southwest valley. An all-you-can-eat buffet includes pizza, pasta, sausage & peppers, meatball sliders, fried bologna sandwiches, Italian hot dogs and Caesar Salad for $25.95. Specials are also available on Corona buckets, wine and PBR.
Enjoy the Game at Home!
Since the Evel Pie pizza joint won't be able to show the game, it's offering a great take-home deal instead. For $51, you can order 51 meatballs tossed in house-made marinara sauce or 51 chicken wings mixed with a choice of spicy hot sauces. Only 60 order are available and must be ordered in advance for pickup between noon and 3:30 p.m. Call (702) 840-6460.
A Fast Take on Fast Food!
PDQ is serving up 25 or 50-piece platters of chicken tenders for pick-up on Super Bowl Sunday. Buy one and get a second free of charge! PDQ and be found near Sahara & Valley View and Craig & Allen.
